Concept and Intention
In Taman Kanagapuram,
the value of its contribution to society as in commercial or historical are
slowly depleting. Originally Taman Kanagapuram was a dwelling area, it
establish during 1950’s and growing since then due to the situation of over
population in Kuala Lumpur. New developments start taking place as us
skyscrapers and apartments, residents start move out to new home and areas,
related to the rapidly growing of high rise apartment buildings, there are
still construction going on nearby the chosen site, and slowly Taman
Kanagapuram become less lively over the years. Based on this situation, empty
houses are being transform into commercial usages, but this doesn’t shop the
urban development that engulfed the site gradually. To prevent this situation
from happening, is to bring back the value of this area, giving a new purpose
to it which is greater than those developments which is creating a place where
elderly able to showcasing their skills and display it to the society hence
propagate the area and elderly centre, which on another hand help preserve the
site and being new hopes to the elderly.
